The Apothecary Shops’ pharmacists are trained to provide patient education and counseling to help ensure the highest level of treatment success and patient safety. We work diligently to assure a continuum of care between the oncologist’s office and the pharmacy, and work closely with other healthcare professionals in a team effort to assure cancer patients receive safe, efficient, quality care.

Cancer treatment has been largely dominated by infusion therapy; however, in the last few years the oncology field has witnessed the emergence of more than a dozen oral chemotherapy agents. Treatments are now being prescribed for administration at home or at an ambulatory setting. Due to the seriousness of these diseases, it is of the utmost importance that oral chemotherapy agents are taken correctly and that adverse drug events be recognized and reported immediately.

Apothecary Shop pharmacists are available to their patients and their prescribing physician(s) on a 24-hour basis. Our level of expertise in treating oncology and the quality of support services we provide to our patients has resulted in active relationships with physicians throughout the Southwest. We follow new therapeutic protocols and stock recently FDA-approved medications.
