Community Pharmacy Practice Residency

The Apothecary Shops are specialty pharmacies that apply the human touch to delivering medications and recommendations to patients and physicians. The company is independently owned and operated with eight pharmacies located throughout the Phoenix, AZ Metropolitan area including our National mail order facility, two locations in Tucson, AZ, one in Summerlin, NV, and one in Columbus, OH.

The Apothecary Shops specialize in reproductive health, women’s health, pain management, veterinary medicine, sports health, ophthalmology, oncology, transplant medicine, and infectious diseases. We are also the only PCAB accredited compounding pharmacy in Arizona.

As a resident, you will be challenged to develop and improve your clinical skills through interactions with patients and healthcare professionals. In addition, residents will hold a position as visiting clinical faculty at Midwestern University Glendale. This allows you to have access to all of the academic resources available at this prestigious campus.

The purpose of a community practice residency is to prepare practitioners to enter the community pharmacy or other community practice settings. The program is designed to give residents practical experience in all aspects of ambulatory care that would normally require five or more years of practice to obtain. Residents graduating from the program will be seasoned and mature professionals. This residency experience is intended to provide a structured educational training experience for the development of advanced knowledge and skills in the delivery of care in the ambulatory setting.

This Community Pharmacy Residency Program has adopted the American Pharmaceutical Association’s Principles of Pharmaceutical Care and is accredited by the American Pharmaceutical (APhA) and American Society of Health Systems Pharmacists (ASHP).
